Regular materials for EMI shielding are nickel silver, stainless steel and Mu-metal.

Storage & Handling 

The materials used to manufacture these shields are based on mild steel with a carbon content of less than 0.12% and a content of alloying elements and natural impurities of no more than 1%. Therefore, the main shielding elements are iron and tin. The thin tin layer generated allows the shield to be easily soldered to the PC board and resists corrosion during assembly. Tinplate shields provide the most cost-effective shielding protection if the following measures are taken during storage and handling
